When this company was founded 20 years ago, we never imagined
that we would be working with companies and customers from
almost every continent. Our modest beginnings didn't seem
like they could possibly pave the way for such growth. Today,
we are located in our company headquarters and warehouse facility
just outside of Los Angeles, CA (near Magic Mountain!) and
this houses our entire operation. Establishing close relationships
with our staff, processors, suppliers and, most importantly,
you, our valued customer, have allowed us to fulfill a destiny
that we could once only imagine. For this, we are truly grateful.

Spaceshots introduces more than 50 products a year, purchased
directly from many companies in America and around the world.
Our catalog offer over 800 items, which gives our catalog
a unique merchandise mix of astronomy and satellite products
with items not found in other catalogs or retail stores.
Bill Lancaster, a life long subscriber to National Geographic
Society Publications, Scientific American, and other interesting
scientifically based technical publications, has a great personal
interest in outer space, which includes our Solar System,
satellites, and images of Earth taken from space. The National
Geographic 1985 Atlas "SPACE PORTRAIT OF A CONTINENT"
was the final key inspiration to start Spaceshots, Inc. Bill
firmly believed there was a business opportunity that would
be created by public interest. He feels that a company is
not just measured by how successful it is but by which road
it has traveled to gain success - the school of hard knocks
and great networking. He believed that:
• There are many other people with similar interests
in Earth imagery and Space products.
• Many of the interested public would enjoy and would
readily purchase a reasonably priced picture from space of
"their area" on Earth.
• Residents or ex-residents of a city would buy a reasonably
priced, color-corrected picture from space of their area,
which would clearly show where they live, work, and play.
• There are many other people with similar interests
in Earth imagery and Astronomy.
• Many of the interested public would enjoy and would
readily purchase a reasonably priced picture from space of
"their area" on Earth or an Astronomy Chart.
• Residents or ex-residents of a city would buy a
reasonably priced, color-corrected picture from space of their
area, which would clearly show where they live, work, and
play.
• Natural color images from typical reds and blues of
infrared imagery to the general public's expectations and
perceptions of lush green forests, blue oceans, and white
snow capped mountains would make very recognizable pictures
from space.
• Many organizations had imagery and processing; however,
few had successfully marketed their imagery. The satellite
imagery market to the public is a relatively small business.
Large corporations and government agencies that own satellite
imagery are not able to run a small, low overhead business.

Spaceshots produces images of various areas and sources other
than images to bring you the most complete assortment of satellite
image posters available. All of the images, which you see
in the Gallery, have been color enhanced on computer systems
using advanced image processing techniques. Each print is
unique in the way that it has been enhanced and presented.
Although the same basic techniques are used to process the
data, it is up to the individual creator to present the image
in his own style. Thus, we find variations in the coloring
of the images and also in the actual print layout. We are
pleased to provide you with this collection of satellite image
prints. Not only are these high-tech pieces of art enjoyable
to look at, they are educational as well.
In addition to offering the prints in a paper version, we
offer most of the images in a laminated version. This is simply
a clear vinyl (plastic) coating applied to both sides of the
print. Laminating provides durability for repeated handling
and offers an inexpensive alternative to glass. It is light
enough so that the print can easily be rolled for shipping.
